Many Ways to Get Involved...

Because MAYC is such a young organization we are continually working to build a solid foundation that will perpetuate our mission and sustain our financial viability. Milton Area Youth Center is a faith-based community-supported non-profit organization; it receives no municipal, state or federal funding and relies solely on the contributions of groups and individuals. MAYC requires a variety of resources in order to run effectively. Time, talent, funding, food and prayer are all important cogs in the wheel that keep MAYC operating on a daily basis.

Time and Talent
MAYC's mentors set us apart from other youth centers. More than just providing a place for students to hang out, we offer the opportunity to interact in meaningful ways with adults of different ages. Many of our students are missing out on significant relationships with grandparents, fathers, older siblings or extended family. After spending time at MAYC many mentors are seen as surrogate family members.

Recently a girl told our director, "I don't feel like I belong anywhere anymore- not at school, not at church, not even at home because I'm having a hard time getting along with my mom. But I come to the youth center and it's the only place I feel welcome- the only place I feel like I belong." This is the result of the caring presence our mentors provide on a daily basis.

MAYC offers at least one fun productive activity each day; these activities are led by our mentors. We are always looking for new people to share their talents and love for arts, crafts, music, hobbies, special skills... the possibilities are endless! Do you have a talent you could share? Please use the contact form below to inquire further about sharing your time and talents with the teens at MAYC.

Funding
Currently everything we provide at MAYC is free to those who attend.  We want all students to feel welcome, and we realize that charging a fee may exclude the
students who would most benefit from MAYC’s positive influence. Because of this, we look to those who share our vision and support our mission and ask, “Would you help us ensure the success of our students as well as the success of Milton Area Youth Center by partnering with us financially?”

Donors can give a gift of any size to our general fund or may choose to become a MAYC Hero by  supporting a student for $50, $30 or $20 each month. (Click on the MAYC Heroes tab at left for more information.) We also have a wish list of items whose amounts range from $50 to $100,000. Another great option for partnering with MAYC is to hold a third-party fundraiser for us or to sponsor one of our fundraising events. Please use the contact form below to ask for more information on any of our funding opportunities.

Food
Each day the students enjoy a hearty after-school snack. Imagine the amount of food it takes to feed 40 teenagers each day! We are blessed with donations from local businesses and individuals, but can always use more! In an attempt to offer nutritious options, the best donations are those of fruits, vegetables, juice, milk and home-baked goods. Disposable products like paper cups and bowls and plastic spoons and forks are also needed regularly.

Prayer
The most important thing you can do to ensure the success of Milton Area Youth Center is to pray regularly. Please pray for provision of all the resources needed. Pray for the director, board members and mentors. Pray for the students who attend each day. Pray for financial blessings and personal breakthroughs.

"And all things you ask for in prayer, believing, you will receive."
Matthew 21:22
